Licenses

STAF Version 3.2.5 and later (and its downloadable services) are licensed under the Eclipse Public License (EPL) V1.0.

Previous versions of STAF are licensed as follows:

• STAF Versions 2.6.8 through 3.2.4 are licensed under the Common Public License (CPL) V1.0.
• STAF Versions prior to 2.6.8 are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) V2.1.

Other OSS Licenses

Other Open Source Software (OSS) packages are distributed as part of STAF (or its downloadable services), but are licensed under their own licenses and are not subject to STAF's EPL license.

• zLib is distributed as part of STAF and is used by the ZIP service
• OpenSSL is distributed as part of STAF and is used by the STAF TCP Connection Provider and the FS service
• Xerces2-J is distributed with the STAX, HTTP, and Namespace services
• Xalan-J is distributed with the STAX service
• Jython is distributed with the STAX, Cron and EventManager services
• Commons Logging, Commons HttpClient, and CyberNeko HTML Parser are distributed with the HTTP service
• Commons Codec is distributed with the HTTP and Email services
